This past weekend I really over did it with the cooking (JK, impossible). In celebration of my sister's engagement I made 3 things (remember that marathon baking experiment I conducted a few weeks ago...the training was for this very moment. Let me just say, I shined).
Here's what made the final cut: creamy mixed berry scones (sophisticated deliciousness), caramel stuffed pumpkin cookies (seasonal deliciousness), and those damn good strawberry butter cookies (the soft, gooey, chewy, 'this is what I would be if I were in food-form', deliciousness). I'm not going to lie, the treats were good. My dad even ate 3 of each the moment they came out of the oven - his kitchen, his food.
This dance wasn't his exact reaction to the taste of each...but it was certainly mine:
That's right. I nailed it.
Here is the first of those recipes. The remaining two decadent desserts will be posted next. Don't worry if you don't have a reason to bake them, they're good for tea time, bed time, TV/pj time, breakfast...they're good for always.
